How to keep motivation in the moments when we lose it?

Workshop goals: To present participants with information on theoretical and practical aspects of emotional intelligence. To encourage recognising and developing skills and competencies connected to emotional intelligence.

Instead of looking for the easiest way to get rid of the pain, we can look inside to see what drives our desire to escape the way we feel. What do we avoid when we don’t do the things we really want to do? …

What is motivation:

Motivation guides our behavior and is the “energy for action,” according to Dr. Edward Deci, a professor of psychology at the University of Rochester. Dr. Damon Korb, a behavioral pediatrician in Los Gatos, California, and author of Raising an Organized Child, describes motivation as a desire for something enough to overcome the momentum to begin.

When we are highly motivated, we have a strong desire and energy to take action, and when we are not motivated, we lack the energy to complete a task,” says Eyal.

It often happens that we lose our motivation due to a series of events that totally squeeze every drop of inspiration in us, and its return begins to seem like something impossible. In fact, in most cases, the lack of motivation is related to a lack of desire for change, stress or a lack of awareness of other side issues that prevent us from staying motivated and pursuing the goals we set.
