What is motivation:
Motivation guides our behavior and is the “energy for action,” according to Dr. Edward Deci, a professor of psychology at the University of Rochester. Dr. Damon Korb, a behavioral pediatrician in Los Gatos, California, and author of Raising an Organized Child, describes motivation as a desire for something enough to overcome the momentum to begin.
“When we are highly motivated, we have a strong desire and energy to take action, and when we are not motivated, we lack the energy to complete a task,” says Eyal.
It often happens that we lose our motivation due to a series of events that totally squeeze every drop of inspiration in us, and its return begins to seem like something impossible. In fact, in most cases, the lack of motivation is related to a lack of desire for change, stress or a lack of awareness of other side issues that prevent us from staying motivated and pursuing the goals we set.
